Attorney Eric Harron, was recently featured in a KEYE TV news story discussing animal cruelty laws.

But defense attorney Eric Harron says stricter laws aren’t necessary. “I think the laws are plenty strict already,” he said. Harron says charges are often filed against people who didn’t mean to hurt animals. “Typically they arise out of mistake, not an intentional act. They’re largely good people,” he said.

Harron argues a registry similar to the sex offender registry could create more problems than it fixes in Central Texas. “You have a situation where someone who was already struggling to support their family could prevent them from getting employment or the education they need to ultimately support their family,” he said.
