Eric Harron, a qualified and experienced criminal defense attorney located in Austin, TX, is offering an annual $1,000 scholarship to one college/university student in the United States.

The scholarship will be awarded to the student who submits the best overall essay on one of the topics below:

Essay Topics to Choose From:

  1. What traits do you have that will enhance your education and future employment?
  2. Why is there a high correlation between the level of education attained by an incarcerated person and his or her recidivism rate?
  3. Why is education important?

Essay Requirements:

  • Essay must be between 500 and 1,000 words long and must fully answer one of the questions above.
  • Entry deadline is annually on August 30th.
  • Essay must be emailed to tyler@harronlaw.com. Subject line:  “Entry for The Eric Harron Law Scholarship.”
  • Please include your name and contact information within the email.
  • Please provide an official statement of your current academic status. Your school’s registrar will be able to provide you with documentation that proves your enrollment.
  • Must be a full-time student attending (or planning to attend on a full-time basis) an accredited institution of higher education.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen
  • The Eric Harron Law Scholarship is to be used exclusively for school tuition and related expenses.
  • Open to any students of any degree seeking category.
  • No minimum GPA requirement.
  • The awarded recipient shall provide proof of admission and enrollment in an institution of higher education.
  • Must be a full-time student attending (or planning to attend on a full-time basis) an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Failure to include all required materials will result in immediate rejection of the application.

Award

The Eric Harron Law Scholarship recipient will be notified of the selection annually on or about September 15th..
